Daily Challenge Monday Nov. 14, 2011
Put your fork down between bites at 1 meal today.
How to do it
During one meal today, make a point of putting your fork down after every bite. (Eating with your hands? Set your food down between bites.) Swallow completely before you take another bite.
Why it matters
Most of us can eat a meal in under 10 minutes, yet it takes our stomachs at least 20 minutes after we're done eating to signal our brains that we're no longer hungry. When you slow down your eating, you give your stomach a chance to catch up to your brain, which means you may actually eat less. By setting down your fork, you slow down the whole process.
The phrase "wolfing it down" was inspired by the behavior of meat-eating animals like wolves, who either chew their food very little or devour it whole or in chunks.
I do this every day other wise I would get sick and throw up from eating too fast.
I actually did it at lunch while eating a burrito. I tok a bite and put the burrito down. I chewed and chewed. It was amazing how fast I felt full- I didn't guite finish the burrito
I'll try and remember to do this
This is something I share in my classes.

LOL No really I do need to work on this,, I just need to slow down.. and enjoy the food but it might be harder when Thankgiving gets here.. HEE HEE
This one is easy to do when you have good company and I definitely had good company at my meals today.
I pretty much always eat slow, chew well and savor I'm a chef what more could you want than to really taste the food, I haven't been online for 4 days and truly missed everyone, I'm back hopefully for a few days anyway!
I have to remember to slow down and chew more too!!
I almost always do this anyway. I have a jaw problem and I'm a slow eater, but also recently lost a lot a weight and part of the strategy was to eat slower, chew more and really savor my food lol.
i did this this am.
