Start investing in a friendship today or get to know an acquaintance better by reaching out and making a date for something fun and easy. It could be lunch, coffee, a quick walk or bike ride ... whatever you both enjoy, set it up and put it on the calendar.

Why it matters

Cultivating lasting friendships takes time and effort, which can be difficult to find when we're busy and distracted with our day-to-day activities. But investing in friendships (and making new ones!) is very important no matter what's going on in your life, because friends help bolster your mood and provide an important support system. People who have strong relationships tend to be healthier and may even live longer!
