Daily Challenge Monday Apr. 04, 2011
Emotional Health focuses on daily experiences related to happiness, enjoyment, sadness, and stress in evaluating overall well-being.
Write down one word that represents a happy memory.
How to do it
Think of a happy memory. Was it a fantastic vacation? A special party with friends? Focus on the details of the memory. Then think of one word that captures that experience, and write it down. Keep the word handy to look at if you need a pick-me-up today.
Why it matters
Taking time to remember that funny camping trip or goofy birthday party can change your whole day, because thinking happy thoughts can improve your mood and make you a more cheery person. Although not everyone is born with a sunny disposition, it's possible to re-frame our thoughts to make them more upbeat. Studies show that leading a positive, happy life can improve health, extend life, and provide an overall sense of well-being.
The term "déjà vu" is French for "already seen." Almost 70% of the population reports having had it at least once in their lives, and people between the ages of 15 and 25 experience déjà vu more than any other group.
