Everyday Well-Being

Be a tourist in your own town: Go for a walk and take 3 photos with your camera or cell phone.

How to do it

Grab your camera, or use the camera on your cell phone, and take a walk today. Take 3 pictures of whatever you see that excites you: the sunset, your favorite landmarks, or pets or wildlife you meet along the way. If you already have a walking routine, try taking a different route instead, or ask a friend or family member to join you, and compare photos once you've finished your walk.

Why it matters

Walking is one of the simplest forms of exercise, but it can bring great health benefits. Making time for a daily walk can help lower cholesterol, reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, and increase bone strength. Mixing up your walking routine by snapping some photos will help to keep you interested and engaged in the activity, and might even encourage you to walk further.

Fun fact

France wins the award for hosting the most visitors and having the highest level of tourism of any country in the world.
