Everyday Well-Being

Take 1 small step to pursue an interest.

How to do it

Identify something that you've wanted to learn about, but haven't had the chance to pursue. It can be anything at all: a new type of cooking, a volunteer opportunity, or a creative endeavor. Think of one small step you can take to move your effort forward - going online to do research or asking someone about it, for example - and then do it.

Why it matters

The things we'd like to achieve or learn often get delayed because tackling them as a whole seems too daunting. When you break goals down and begin by taking just one small step, you feel more positive and confident about perhaps trying another small step. That can encourage you to keep going.

Fun fact

Rome wasn't built in a day, nor was it built in a year. It was built gradually over 870 years, from 753 BC to its peak population of 1.2 million in 120 AD.
