How to do it

Which songs make you feel good and give you a sense of joy? Play them on the way to work, on your mp3 player while you're taking a walk, or tune into your favorite radio station as you make dinner. Aim to keep the music on for at least two songs. It doesn't matter if it's country, R&B, or classical, or if the tempo is fast or slow, as long as the music is playing.

Why it matters

Listening to music is not only fun, it also has a positive effect on health and well-being! It lowers the risk of depression, boosts energy, and stimulates positive thinking. It can even help with relaxation: one study found that listening to music for 60 minutes reduced anxiety as effectively as a therapeutic massage.
