Daily Challenge Thursday Mar. 15, 2012
Healthy Behaviors is about lifestyle habits, namely healthy eating and physical activity, which have proven connections to lifelong health and disease prevention.
Take a walk and take a closer look at the trees.

The trees seem determined to put on their spring best despite the crazy weather. The Japanese maple and the cherry trees are so stunning! I have a Camelia tree just outside my front window that puts on the best show. I'm hoping she will bloom before we move. My heart blooms with her.
The birds were in fine form today and very chattery. I watched some robins bathe in a puddle on the side of the road. So funny to see them. The ducks are total opportunists here and have taken over every flood plain. I should have brought more bread for them today. We did not have near enough to sate all the quacking brood.

I love looking at trees. The apartment here has a small garden opposite where I think 30 different types of trees must be planted (they have names of the trees on it, too), some with flowers, some without. They are soothing to look at and I always learn something new.

When you really look at the landscape around you, it is so wonderful for all the various trees and flowers that you can see. In Spain and Portugal when I visited, we found quite a few places that
had placks in front of trees telling their history and age! It made me more aware of my surroundings when I got home so that I look around me more.

Extremely long work day today...no outside play for me, besides late hour and poor weather; just not an option. Will have to double up on challenges this weekend.

i did this today and to be quite honest the trees were unbelievably ugly due to the fact they don't have any leaves ect on them as of yet

Poor trees Lynnette..... LOL... use your imagination...
Lynette M. replied March 16, 2012 at 19:30 UTC:
lmao my imagination doesn't do well with ugly trees

I think you should look again at those same trees...some of the most beautiful pictures have only a bare tree showing all the wonderous branches that hold all the beautiful leaves that you are waiting to see. Have a great day!

For the challenge on Sunday I committed to go walking every day this week.. so I have been noticing the trees quite a bit lately. I'm impressed that many of them have buds on them already and are starting to flower. That didn't happen until nearly June last year! What an odd winter this has been...

So you all know by now that this was after rehearsal :) Meaning it's dark outside....so....I walked around the trees in the parking lot at the store where I had to stop and buy vodka, a spray bottle, mouthwash, and lipstick (don't ask :)). I did notice the bark on the trees is rough and has lichen growing down one side, and that the trees have little leaf buds on them - it's so warm and springy here for this tme of year! :) Hopefully it won't snow on all the flowers and trees! :( I'll walk around and look for critters on the trees when it's sunnier ;)
