Healthy Behaviors is about lifestyle habits, namely healthy eating and physical activity, which have proven connections to lifelong health and disease prevention.
Engage both your core and back muscles by stretching in the plank position.

Hello Lovely Friends!
Well, it's finally Day 1 for me and my beautiful pact partner, Laura! Apparently, we're gonna "rock it Philly style", so here's some Philly natives:
the sweetest of girls who worked in a punk shop across the street from my family's store before she got her record contract (i still remember her running into the store and hugging my Dad) ... showing her true colors with the aide of the zither ... Ms. Cyndi Lauper
friend and best jazz guitarist around today, Jimmy Bruno
maybe filmed in NY, but Jimmy is straight up Philly!
we share a hair stylist, voice doctor and voice therapist; the manager of my family's store was her HS classmate and she still resides here in Philly, Ms Patti Labelle showing the Apollo Theatre how Philly natives take it over the rainbow ...
There are a million more amazing Philly artists that make me proud to call Philly my home! Now, back to the Daily Challenge lol!
I neglected to check for a new track last night and this morning, I found myself, face down on the ground AGAIN. Not happy, but it's complete. I think I was too annoyed to get any benefit. I'm off to change my track then to my voice lesson.
♥ Much Love to you All!!!! ♥

I got all excited when I saw all the youtube links! I thought we were finally going to get to hear your amazing voice (outside of a fire circle).
I enjoy Philadelphia, more than exploring NYC to be honest. I haven't been there in a few years, I should visit again, I'd love to see it from the native's point of view for once.

@ Raven ... I'd love to show you around Philly sometime. It is quite different here than in NYC even though we have similarities. I love NYC, but Philly is home and has much more history that "in tact". Sorry about "teasing you" with the youtube links, but let me tell you in advance that I probably won't ever put myself on youtube unless it's the recording of a performance. I can't see myself making a video from home for the soul purpose of putting on youtube. When I am able (have the song, the accompanist, etc), I will definitely record for my personal friends who have asked. ♥

LOL.... so funny that you bring up planking... when the rage first hit many months back my nephew got us all doing this.. anyhow I did it again.. modified a little bit though. I have an ottoman that I can "plank" on where my legs, and upper torso do not have the support of the floor so it is totally all me holding the pose. Kind of like a watermelon on the head of a pin... LOL

I can do this for up to 30 seconds. It feels awesome!

At the risk of being ridiculed, I must say that I just don't "get it". I doubt I could do it anyway so I'll just keep working on my balance exercises. Have a great day!

Well, our hearts were in the right place, huh? ;) Yes, Carolyn! A diagram would be wonderful!

This certainly is good for the core muscles. When I try to do the full yoga plank (arms straight with only toes on the floor) I can get into the pose but when I try to lower slowly I fall on my face.

Done...we did these with the kids in P.E. last year when I had a long term sub job. I totally forgot about this stretch. So easy to do I will add it to my other stretches!
We just got back from a run and it is such a beautiful day. Enjoy the sunshine!

I hold this sometimes for 30 seconds and focus on my abs.....it works nicely! It also strengthens my arms! How was your gardening? Enjoy! :) ♥
