Daily Challenge Saturday Apr. 21, 2012
Healthy Behaviors is about lifestyle habits, namely healthy eating and physical activity, which have proven connections to lifelong health and disease prevention.
Check the first ingredient in a loaf of store-bought bread to see if it's whole grain.

I didn't even have to check this. I already know mine is not whole grain. My husband buys most of our bread and he doesn't buy the healthy bread. He goes for cheap. Spent all day almost with a bunch of middle schoolers letting them build spider looking remote controled robots. Man what a day!!! I love my job even if it doesn't pay for Saturday work. lol

good for you. Wish I could talk my hubby in to it
Jackie C. replied April 22, 2012 at 1:54 UTC:
start out slow with him. I had to with my husband. Start with soft whole weath bread I think wonder makes it. Then you move to the 100% kinds and only usethem for french toast and things he won't realize it with, Then you hit him with a sandwitch and he won't care.

I don't eat bread often because of the gluten intolerance, plus I don't really like it much. I discovered that I didn't have any bread in the house, but we did have an empty bread bag in the box. Checked the ingredients, it was whole grain! :D
And then I threw the bag away to stop the clutter. :p
I went running today in the rain. I feel amazing, I did an hour with my boyfriend, running through the park up the steps and round the paths under the trees. Came home to some fruit, a glass of water and a warm shower. Bliss.
Hello to my pact pal Sylvia. Since we're on different tracks, I'm intrigued as to what your challenge was today. :) I hope your weekend is going as well as mine is. :)

Hey kids, I heard Dr. Oz one day say the bread bag needs to say 100% whole grain. So, I started making sure the bread I buy specifies 100%.
I've got a small problem today, I had a pneumonia vaccination yesterday and could not move my arm last night. It was after hours for my doctor, so I called my insurance company nurseline, who after getting a brief history from me recommended that I call 911 and be checked out to find out if the problem was from the injection or something else. A girlfriend took me to the ER. After doing an EKG and taking a gallon or so of blood and xraying my shoulder the doctor said those tests showed nothing abnormal and he believed the vaccination caused some blood to leak into my muscle which was causing my problem. The best he could do was treat the pain. I still can't raise my arm very high, but at least I can move it. Weird, huh?
So, I will be less than fully functional for how long I don't know, should be able to complete the DCs, as long as i don't have to use my left arm.
Jenni, home baked bread is the best! I haven't done it for years, but always liked the smell of it baking, and eating it warm right out of the oven!

Peg, hope you feel better soon. One more reason for me to NOT go to a DR. Like I needed a reason. I saw one in 2007 that was enough. lol
