Daily Challenge Monday Apr. 23, 2012
Hold on to a chair or table, lower yourself into a frog-like squat, and repeat 4 times.
How to do it
Stand with your weight evenly distributed and your feet aligned beneath your shoulders. Point your toes out slightly. While holding on to a chair or table, lower yourself into a squatting position by bending your knees and lowering your seat toward the floor while keeping your spine straight. Go down as far as you comfortably can, then slowly return to a standing position. Repeat four more times. To make this more challenging, try it without holding on to anything.
Why it matters
Making like a frog is great for flexibility! Squatting stretches your calf muscles, hamstrings, and groin muscles. It can help to strengthen your thigh muscles, and the open-hip position of the stretch may also relieve knee pressure. If you do this stretch without a chair or table, it will also boost your balance, as the position calls on you to stay low to the ground but maintain a straight back.
The world's largest frog, the Goliath of West Africa, grows almost 12 inches (31 cm) in length, weighs up to 7 pounds (3 kg), and can easily clear 10 feet (305 cm) in a single hop.
That was fun reminded me of ballet
I did look like a frog but I didn't sound like one! I could do 10 of these squats before I had to stop because my knees protested!
OK! My knees sound like they need a lube job! lol Have a great evening everybody!

I stopped doing things for awhile, but I'm glad I get these posts,It was very easy....
Took body pump at the gym - probably did over 100 squats...
After a friend took me for a ride on his Harley to clear my mind, I squatted like a frog to loosen up my hips. That was almost as nice as the bike ride!
Just like they said, ouchie on my knees though
This will be accomplished tonight when we exercise....oh joy!
Whoops! I'm late, but I did do this! Good for my poor old knees! I should start every day with these!
Just like it says! With a few extra thrown in!
