Everyday Well-Being

Stand in front of the mirror and say at least 1 thing you like about the way you look.

How to do it

Look at yourself in the mirror. Pick at least one thing you like about the way you look, and say it aloud. It could be anything at all, such as "I like my big, brown eyes," "I love my long fingers," or "I'm so happy that haircut is growing out!" It doesn't matter what it is, just as long as it celebrates some aspect of you.

Why it matters

With all the pressure people face to be more thin, beautiful, handsome, and so on, it's easy to forget that there is simply one and only YOU! Focusing on a positive aspect of your face, hair, or body doesn't make you vain - it makes you appreciate your own uniqueness and can bolster your self-esteem.

Fun fact

During the Elizabethan Era (1533 to 1603), a mirror was the most sought-after item that a person could hang on his wall. It was much more valuable than a painting.
