Why it matters

People typically stick to what they know when shopping, and that's OK. But by finding something ahead of time and committing to trying it, you'll expose yourself to new flavors, textures, and tastes - and you may end up making your new fruit or vegetable part of your regular rotation! Your new, exciting piece of produce may also contain vitamins and minerals that you don't normally get, either. Whatever catches your eye on the list - from persimmons to purple peppers - don't be afraid to give it a try.
