Daily Challenge Monday May. 21, 2012
Emotional Health focuses on daily experiences related to happiness, enjoyment, sadness, and stress in evaluating overall well-being.
Compliment 1 person today with feedback that is specific, positive, and above all, genuine.

Fun Fact: In the cartoon Calvin and Hobbes, Calvin made the claim: "Homework is bad for my self-esteem....So instead of trying to learn, I'm just concentrating on liking myself the way I am."
I thanked both of my teachers today - my Intro teacher earlier today for replying rather quickly to a question I had e-mailed her about working at a chiropractor's office - and then my current teacher for being so patient with all of us because some nights we really can be a handful! :-)

I can think of several examples of compliments I gave this weekend, but this morning I asked my therapist about her pink blouse and told her it looked pretty against her skin tone. And this afternoon, I arrived a few minutes early at my Zumba class, so I sat in the sun and sent my friend a message to thank her for having me over for lunch the other day. I told her how much fun I had, spending time and playing with her and the girls, and complimented her on the spinach/bacon/blue cheese salad she served.
Compliments are an easy gift to give that last forever, get great returns, and cost nothing. Give the joy you want to get in this world. ♥

Thank you, Kathy! :) I feel the same about reading yours.
Shannon: I love starting my week with my therapy appointment. :D It helps me to process whatever repeating brain loops I might have left over from last week and start the week fresh. I always feel lighter and a little braver and like I have more room for new ways of thinking about my relationships with friends, family, and the rest of the world, including myself. Therapy is, at least for me, a game-changer.
Thank you, Rachel. I hope you have a beautiful day, yourself. ♥

A coworker and I attended and manned a booth at a STEM expo. She gave me such glowing remarks. I did a good job, but she did too. She is new at the program and does not have as much history as I do. However, she did a fantastic job picking up on the right things to say to people to get them to our booth and to keep them there during my presentation! Way to go TT!

I try to do this every day... In fact, I really enjoy both giving and receiving positive feedback. For me at least it makes me feel loved that someone cares enough to do it...
Day one, Bart! Thanks for the encouragement!! I would have been here much sooner had I not all of a sudden remember...wait...Friday is my birthday and THAT means...oh no! My driver license is about to expire!! *laughs* Got it all taken care of though. Didn't even have to wait all day at the DMV and the lady who helped me was so nice.
Hope everyone is getting a good start to their week!

I usually make a point to do that, be at work, at home, with friends, strangers, in the store. I think people need to hear when they done something right. It is important. So often people just will hear when they have done something wrong, will only receive criticism. The more important is it to point out when they done something good. It can change someone's day, someone's months, someone's way of seeing themselves and in some circumstances even someone's life. That is a chance to have a positive impact on someone that would be a shame to miss.
Send out applications for my hubby yesterday. Please keep your fingers crossed that he will get one of the jobs he applied for. Thank you.
Hope all of you are having a great day.

Saying or doing one nice thing for someone can cause a chain reaction and you don't even see the impact of your small gesture as it expands and spreads in a ripple effect of good deeds. ♥

Thank you ladies for all the lovely comments and the finger crossing. It is very appreciated. He has to call a company back tomorrow to make an appointment for an interview. So keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank You my Sister for you sweet words of encouragement this morning!
Good Monday Morning Everyone! I am all over this challenge today. My walking partner and I decided to go hiking instead of power walking, and I paid her a compliment about the colors she was wearing today that complimented her beauty even more. It was genuine and very specific as well as positive. She smiled happily and all was good with the world.
Have a great day!

I just did that without knowing this was today´s challenge! Complimented a new student who has learned 4 or 5 languages, just because he wanted to... WOW!

Interestingly enough, I just finished doing that! : ) Found a SUPER FAST and SUPER HONEST seller on ebay, and I really have enjoyed doing business with her. I also complimented my supervisor this morning on a really great blouse that she is wearing... something that she said she's had for several years, but every time I see her wear it, it looks FANTASTIC on her! : )

It is with very mixed emotions that I watched my daughters grow up, graduate and move out on their own. I wasn't prepared to feel like that. : (

I should have said "it WAS with very mixed emotions...." Lord, but I hate to be grammatically incorrect!

I do this all the time- at work and in my sport, although, I'm usually not able to on Mondays. No practice, and I'm on the phone at work all day. So I don't often get to provide feedback to co-workers or teammates (no time to work on league business).
I can think of a couple people who I need to leave some feedback for. Tomorrow.
