I'm doing what Ken L did! I'm choosing to say 'no' to this challenge. In his words, "Then I would be completing the challenge, so I would actually be saying yes. How's that for a paradox?"
I'd like to thank Ken...I was way to tired for a challenge this evening!
Day 4 with David N! :)

Not a problem, it is easy for mr to say no. Like i was two when it comes to things i don't want to do.
The exception being family things during the holidays - i give in but i don't do as much as everyone asks of me. And over the years they have learned not to ask why not - because i am not always polite when pushed.
Helen is it already day 5!!!!

LOL Ohhh no...Don't you hate that?? I had a wonderful boss for 8 years, I loved working for her, she was a luncher and a vacationer, and if the weather was nice, she'd tell me to go home, take a long lunch, whatever I wanted to do. Then she moved to Isreal!! WHYYYYYYY?? Lol Nice bosses are hard to come by!

Julie, the time went back so quickly! Maybe the grumpy boss will improve.
Wendy, the boss I had in the job prior to this one was just the opposite of your good boss. He was a workaholic, hated it when staff took lunch hours and gave you the third degree about taking vacation.

Wow...I've learned to say "NO" all of the time!! I'm a virtual "No" recorder!! LOL!! I guess being a mom to a newly turned teenager, who's testing her boundaries, makes NO a necessary part of one's vocabulary. My only regret is that I would've learned this while I was still teaching (oh...the boy's, who are now 20 and 22 were a "piece of cake" compared to what I'm going through right now!!).
When I was teaching I was constantly being told that I had to do this, and do that...and we had A TON of paperwork, as well as committees that we were supposed to be an active part on, and at LEAST one extra-curricular that we were supposed to be the advisor of....Yep..teaching isn't JUST teaching anymore!! LOL!! I used to say YES to everything and everyone... I was the proverbial YES MAN...and everyone knew it... It wasn't until I started getting severe migraines and chronic pain between my shoulders and in my neck, that I began to say NO....but by then it was too late. A couple of months after that I had a TIA in the classroom and was carted out of the school by ambulance to the hospital. Now of course afterwards I was still in the mode that I NEEDED to go back to work...so I ONLY took a couple of days off to "rest up" and was back in the classroom. Well...that next week I ended up having another TIA at work! There's your wake-up call!!
So....saying NO is easy for me now. NO...I do NOT want to go to the mall ... NO ... I will not drive you to your friend's house ... NO ... I will NOT be a cheerleading coach this year! NO...NO ... NO!!!
Sometimes it actually feels weird to say yes!! LOL!!
Anyway, last night we had a few hours of SEVERE thunderstorms again! Woke me up at 3am (after going to bed at 1am!!) and kept me up until 4:30!!! Yaaaawwwnnnn....sooooo sleepy tired!!! But the funny thing was, when the hubby and I both woke up due to these storms, he began to sing the same song that was going through my head....
YAYYYYY!!! TGIF!!!! Hope everyone has an FUNTASTIC FRIDAY!!! Muggy 84 degrees today...
Day 1 of our pact today Rachel!!! My buddy from across the pond!!! In honor of today's challenge, and with us being partners, I decided we should have a little fun and I'm gonna share a little Monty Python as well ... Heeheehee!! Since we had to say NO...how about the knights who say NI???

I'm learning to say NO more often.
Loved the song, and transporting back to age forgotten.
Also love Monty Python, my favorite line is "Run Away, Run Away".

I can't believe it is already day 4 Miss Lisa Renae! Week is just flying by!
I could totally have a little rant about this because half the time I want to say no but end up saying yes anyways is due to a thing called "obligation." Trust me, if I don't want to do something I have no problem saying no, but there are situations when you just have to bite the bullet and do it anyways.
But I'm not going to go off on a tangent. I'm in too good of a mood! It's Friday! It's sunny! It's my birthday eve! I'm going to SunFest tomorrow! Just found out Cabo Flats has free tequila shots all day tomorrow! (Ok, that last one might not be a good thing...)

see, I need a challenge that says "pledge to say yes." Often I say no for the exact reason of avoiding stress but then I always end up doing nothing because I spend my time trying to avoid stress which is a stress in it's self.
I really discovered, I can't run or hide from stress and anxiety, I always thought as I would get older it would disappear but I see now it's not about losing it, it's how you handle it.
I need to accept myself as I am but still work on finding ways to cope with life and whatever gets thrown at me better.
That was my rant! Happy friday.

How about I say 'no' to this challenge? Then I would be completing the challenge, so I would actually be saying yes. How's that for a paradox?
I buddy was telling me that there was aS.W.A.T. team down-town the other day looking for a person of interest. I said, "I wonder what they mean by that. Do you suppose they were tracking down a terrorist?"
"I don't know," he said.
I pondered further. "A drug kingpin?"
"Maybe," he said, in an almost bored tone of voice.
I had one more possibility. "A leprechaun?"
I could see the wheels turning in his head. He had been looking at his phone but now he was just staring off into the ether. "Do you think?", he finally asked.
So there might be a leprechaun in police custody here in Iowa somewhere...
Song Of The Day is "Dance Me To The End Of Love" by Leonard Cohen<'b>: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
