Daily Challenge Saturday May. 05, 2012
Physical Health comprises questions on topics a doctor may talk about, like Body Mass Index, daily energy, physical pain, history of illness, and medical conditions.
Name 2 ways that your body responds to stress, like tense shoulders or a stomach ache.

My head aches at my temples and I clench my hand muscles involuntarily. I also clench my jaw and that causes great pain so I have learned to ease that a bit.

You might try some muscle relaxation techniques.

I had this today from planning a party... Tense shoulders, tight cheast, heart racing, irratable..

Just 2? Insomnia is my biggest response and next would be tightening of the neck, shoulders and back. I usually know it is stress related when I can't seem to loosen up my back, neck & shoulders.
- Bill K.Flourishing
Neck and shoulder tighten, but far worse, my Blood Pressure soars; thus, I try to minimize stress, and avoid stressful situations if I can.
Thanks Carrie, for encouragement today; you did get me. As you can see, I am just getting around to challenge at 7 PM EST; it has been an active day. Up before 7 AM, to get packed for teaching assignment, and to get ready to go to Church for First Saturday. After Church, sped to Natural Foods store to attend my favorite yoga teacher's yoga class there at 9. She has come to several classes of mine, and I wanted to attend hers outside of the normal fitness center where I normally attend her classes. After that, stopped at a donut shop for a decaf coffee, then went for a mile walk to prepare myself a little for my class. Then went to studio, and workshop ran about 1/2 hr. over, which pushed my class back, as I set up, and got everyone their props. Only had 3 students, all returnees which is good. Class ran from about 12:45 to 1:45, about 15 minutes extra, and 3 participants seemed to really enjoy class. Another plus. I was pretty pleased with class also. Then, had to disinfect their mats, and after they dried I had to put them away, along with props, and lock up. Then it was a quick drive home, a shower, and off to Church again for Mass for Sunday. Went out to restaurant and ate some pasta, which was good, and now here I am. I am pooped.
Hope you weren't worried Carrie, being that today is day 5; by now you know me so don't think you were. Once again, pact was too short.
Hope everyone has had a nice Saturday, and will have a very nice night.

The first is knot in stomach which is super uncomfortable because it lasts long after the stress is gone. Fooie!
To go along with uncomfortable, when I'm extra stressed, my entire body BLOATS! It's horrible, terrible, and makes me feel like a hippo. My stomach bloats, my neck bloats, my hips bloat, my face looks wider. It is strange and I've never met anyone who had a similar reaction but it sucks! I literally can't fit into my pants when it happens. Boo.

ooo...I don't even want to think about it!! Making the area tense up! I think since I'm tired, I'll just take a nap. ;)

Whenever I feel stressed, I take a deep breath, hold it and let it go. It helps me relax.

Ken L..in their words: "Why it matters- You probably don't realize all the ways that stress affects your body. But left unchecked, your stress symptoms could lead to health problems such as high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Learning to recognize how stress affects your body may motivate you to start managing the stress in your life and the stress symptoms you experience."
We don't all have a distillery in your midsts!! :D
Meranda Y...you're right on track!

Thank you so very much for the encouragement this morning Bekah (and for the singing!!) and pact partner Lisa Renae! Today is sadly the last day of our pact but it's like getting a birthday present of bonus points! :-)
Let's see.... If I encounter any stress today I think my body will probably react by saying "you need a shot of tequila!" and then it would probably react by saying "you really need another shot of tequila!" :-)
I kid, I kid. My body typically reacts with loss of appetite, restless sleep and and headaches. I am prone to migraines and these are great triggers for those. So, I think the key to solving all these problems.... You guessed it! Have a shot of tequila!!!! :-)
Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!
Have had shrimp tacos and a margarita for breakfast.
Getting ready to head out to SunFest shortly! :-)
Already so many wishes from friends and my love! ♥
I think this is going to be a great day!
