My commitment is to do some kind of exercise/movement at least 2 times a week for the next month. Will then bump it up to 3 times a week for the following month. So that by the end of the year I will be doing some kind of exercise at least 5 times a week. Yay to good health! And shout out to Tamara! Congratulations on finishing our 5 day pact!
Hummmmm... will have to ponder this one just a bit longer.
I signed a contract with myself to exercise at least 3 times a week for the month of July.
It seems a doable goal, though one I haven't been able to reach so far this week. This contract will make my commitment more binding though, so I think it will really help.

The TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) club has moved meetings to a night I can attend. I am starting in July with a contract with myself to keep active through 2012. If there is success, I will reevaluate in 2012.

I'm sticking with my plan to spend time in my yard this summer. I will get up in the morning, take a brief walk while the coffee brews, peruse the outer perimeter, and make a plan for the day's project.
I promise to break each task down to stages that are easily completed so that I can see some progress without feeling like each huge task must be done right now or else I'm a failure.
I also promise to spend more time with my art work--be creative in small ways every day.
I promise to walk for 30 minutes at least 3 times each week, starting next week.
I do need to get more formal with my goal setting. Much of it is done here and on note cards. As part of the Getting Things Done(GTD) methodology, I do need to get all of my goals written out and identify the next steps towards those goals. The value in picking one goal and writing a contract with myself to achieve it by a certain date will help me. I have so much activity going into preparing for a new job that I thought a diversion was in order.
I commit to a clean and organized sewing space that is ready for use at any time.

Done Date: July 7, 2012
What done looks like: Books, patterns, videos in tall white bookshelf. Fabric, batting, notions and thread organized in rolling, wire drawer carts. Pressing station set up with new cover and new iron. Tools and sewing machine accessories organized in cart next to sewing table. Sewing table holding sewing machine, over-lock machine and cutting mats.
What it feels like: A calming, relaxing space that inspires creativity.
Steps to getting this project done:
Read users manual for sewing machine, oil, fill a bobbin, test. - Done
Read users manual for over-lock machine, oil, thread and test.
Remove all items from sewing table, clean table, clean and replace items that belong there.
Remove all items from tall bookcase, clean bookcase, clean and replace items that belong there.
Remove all items from 3 storage carts, clean drawers and carts, sort fabric and other essential items. Set up one cart for tools and machine accessories. Set up other two carts with fabric, notions and trims.
Remove plastic containers from under sewing table, sort and purge contents. Clean bins. Store quilt batting and oversize items in bins.
What this will do for me: Bring balance back into my life. Make it easy for me to take time each day for a little creativity. Allow me to contribute to community service projects by completing and donating quilts.
First, many thanks to Jennifer F for the much needed encouragement ;) Second, this is not in my wheel house. I tend to be way overscheduled and make tons of commitment to my work and business. It's not a positive I know, but I can admit my problem. Third, this is my contract with, and for myself.
- Consistently make time for something positive and healthy each week..........while I'm scheduling my week on outlook, I will make time for at least 3 hours of me time each week.
- Make an effort every other week to reach out to a friend for face to face time......lunch, gym, yoga, whatever.
- Get back to daddy daughter dates. I know that they're older, but exclusive time with the girls will be awesome.
- Get my butt to Orvis for my fly fishing lessons that are now 7 months old?
- Continue to be introspective, curious, and communicative with those that are a positive influence in my life. Special thanks to all of my close DC friends!

I love this idea! Debating on what make it for. I'm excited :) So, weird how I was excited about this and not a resolution....hmm
