A favorite thing to do....It is especially helpful when a friend is having a bad day. I am sure my mother helped nurture this gift, and it always surprises me that people have a difficult time saying nice things, but I can always find a positive for the negative....
Thank you to everyone on this site who has thought what I had to say was worthy of a connection request...it helps me know that others feel I have worth ♥
Ok...there must be a reason why I picked this track. Rich Relationships' challenge is:
Tell a co-worker, friend, or family member 1 thing you admire about him or her.
How to do it
Tell someone one quality that he or she possesses that you admire. Tell the person face-to-face if you can, and if not, call, email, or message him or her. Be simple and say it with sincere appreciation.
Why it matters
Telling other people what you like about them can help build closer relationships. Who doesn't like to hear about their best qualities? Research has also shown that gratitude is an important characteristic of happiness, so your expression of gratitude - in the form of admiration - is likely to increase your own happiness, too. Finally, paying attention to others' good characteristics can also help you to identify qualities that you would like to develop in yourself.
Morris was in his usual place in the morning sitting at the table, reading the paper after breakfast. He came across an article about a beautiful actress that was about to marry a football player who was known primarily for his lack of IQ and common knowledge.
He turned to his wife Sherry, with a look of question on his face. "I'll never understand why the biggest schmucks get the most attractive wives."
His wife replies, "Why thank you, dear!"
- Cute as a sack full of puppies.
- If things get any better, I may have to hire someone to help me enjoy it.
- Gooder than grits.
Albert Einstein's friend was once asked if it was true that only ten people in the entire world truly understood the man. After some pondering the man replied, "Oh, no. There at least twenty, but Einstein is not one of them."
When you cannot get a compliment any other way, pay yourself one.
Thank you for agreeing to do a pact with me and for your encouragement, Leslie!
I complimented members of my group today for their use of dbt skills. Also found reasons to compliment, my son, husband and mother.
Thank you, dc for this website and for coming up with different and interesting (most of the time) tracks to challenge us with!
Blessings and love!
