I succeeded in the basic exercise, but did not have the balance to repeat on tiptoe. I put the "suck" in succeed. Interesting in the fun fact that they didn't say they succeeded, just "participated in a world record attempt". I can do that. Tempting. I supposed they put the "tempt" in "world record attempt".
How to do it
Stand and lift your right leg 4 inches (10 cm) off the ground in front of you. At the same time, reach your arms directly overhead. Hold this position for 10 seconds, then repeat with your left leg. If you need more of a challenge, you can try performing this exercise while lifting the heel of your standing leg off the ground.
Why it matters
Raising your arms overhead helps to elongate your spine, lifts your chest, and can improve back alignment. Add in the balance and you have the recipe for a successful posture-improving exercise.
In February 2011, 399 people participated in a world record attempt for the most people simultaneously standing on one leg. The event took place at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.
