Today's Daily Challenge Tuesday Mar. 11, 2014
Healthy Behaviors is about lifestyle habits, namely healthy eating and physical activity, which have proven connections to lifelong health and disease prevention.
Sit up straight in a chair, extend your legs, cross right leg over left, switch sides, and repeat.
How to do it
Sit up straight in a chair that does not have wheels. Put your hands on your hips and extend your legs straight out in front of you. Point your toes and cross your right leg over your left at the ankle. Next, switch sides so your left leg crosses over your right. Quickly repeat eight more times, alternating sides as you go.
Why it matters
It takes a lot of different muscle groups to make this scissor move successful! The leg motion requires you to engage muscles in both your inner and outer thighs. The move also calls on your core (can you feel those abdominal muscles working hard as you scissor your legs?). A strong core helps with everyday activities like bending or twisting and can help prevent back pain.
It's believed that the first pair of scissors appeared in Mesopotamia between 3,000 and 4,000 years ago.

Having a bit of difficulty walking the last few days, as the gardner on the estate where I live did not put the lid on the water mains access, a medium sized hole in the ground by the path. In the evening I fell into it & gashed my leg open as there is no light there either. At least I did not break my leg or ankle but anywhere else I could sue them. But have to say it is really painful. Arnica tablets, tea tree & lavender oil.
Sorry about the grumble.

My neck is still sore, but I am well on the road to recovery. Thank you for all of your messages yesterday, It made me realise just how supportive and wonderful this community is.
I hope that you all have a wonderful day today. Tomorrow, my post may be late as I am attending a big offshore and marine exhibition in London, so will not actually be going into the office....If i am really lucky...I may even get an extra few hours sleep!

This is really cool cos you can actually feel the strain in your tummy area........did this in the morning at breakfast table. so my little one asked what I was doing and I explained. I also added that it would help in getting a flat tummy. My six-year old replied " ok mum, I will help remind you cos you are going to need lots of to get a flat tummy" hahaha :-)
