I am 61. I have 2 adult children & between them I have 2 grandgirls & 1 grandson. I worked as a psych nurse in a hospital setting for over 25 yrs. It's great being retired! I love to read, take walks enjoying nature & going to movies! I currently live in Minnesota & am from Wisconsin originally. I am so sorry but i have enough connections to keep track of!! I do apologize as I would love to accept everyone! Thank you for visiting ♥ ♥ ♥

thank you Howard for your encouragement! nice to be remembered! :-)

about the challenge I tend to nip & tuck it going to places! I will try to keep this challenge in mind at my next appointment!

I enjoyed my walk in warmer temps in the low 40's!! snow is melting!

I had a good swim at the Y. even got my own lane which is nice!

not much going on. keeping up with house work. My left hamstring is slowly getting better. I have arthritis in both knees, worse in the right which needs a knee replacement at some point. the left knee is starting to get symptomatic. not fun! I will have to make a decision if I want to start the cortisone shots in that knee & see the dr. soon. I hate getting the shots as they are pretty painful. arthritis is not fun when it gets painful & to the point of surgery in the future! hard to have that on top of fibromyalgia. I have noticed on my hamstring I have little bumps or knots. I think that can be typical with fibromyalgia.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

a good challenge! I forget to measure the oil & do like to watch my calories!

we are in a January thaw! temps up in the 30's today! very nice! & sunshine!

my husband had a hankering for home made brownies tonight. I sent photos on snapshot to my granddaughter in London! she loved making brownies with me. she'd do all the stirring & then loved licking the spoon! I can't wait until she visits this summer! we will be making brownies I am sure & lasagna (her favorite). she will be living with her dad but we are hoping to have a weekend or two with her as well!

I got my walk in today, my swim & stretches done. the hamstring has been bothering me again but it's manageable.just a bit hard to do steps or a lot of walking or standing! I have to pace myself & sit at intervals.

my poor husband got a big scratch on his new phone. he lost his phone a couple weeks ago & got a replacement which was actually an upgrade. I am in the process of ordering glass tempered screen protectors. I hope they work!

    have a fabulous Friday everyone!!

Bummer about the phone. At least it is just a scratch and not a crack. We were in the 50s today. Hurray for January thaws! Summer will be here before we know it. I know you can't wait.

my goal today was to take a walk. I hadn't walked the last few days due to the bitter cold temps. today it warmed up above 30 which was nice!! I got my walk in. there was a nice trail someone made in the woods on a winter tread bike. I had fun walking the trail (which are deer trails) in the bit of woods alongside where I usually walk. I enjoyed the soft snow & winding around the woods. a good walk!

I had acupuncture today. my hamstring pain started to act up again yesterday unfortunately. I think it's part of the fibromyalgia. it's made walking a bit of a challenge & steps, but I am doing my best! I got my swim in but chopped off 5 minutes as it was a bit too much. my acupuncturist will be out of town next week so I won't be able to see her next week if I need another treatment. 2 weeks apart I usually go unless I am in a pain crisis & then she will see me weekly.

we are still hopeful our new cat Hermie will adjust to Sadie. turns out Sadie is very territorial about me! she sat in my lap & Hermie could see her from the ledge in the living room. Hermie has been a gentleman & just watched her. once she realized he was there, she hissed & ran up the steps! she had come downstairs to eat his food (not realizing he was on the ledge & could see her!) & sit in my lap. too funny! progress of a sort... it took her 2 1/2 months of hiding before she came out at our house. it will take a long while I think but I am hopeful. my husband has bonded with Hermie & we hope it will be ok. no physical fights, just the hissing & some growling if they are too close...

:-) They're both beautiful they may not be pals but I hope they gain comfort in knowing that they're not alone.Giving them the same cat food would allow Hermie more of his own.Have a tremendous terrific thankful Thursday. Keep warm and bundled.

Kris they haven't fought physically which is good. we do try to monitor them. if they have a face off I try to talk to them softly & keep the stress low. I think in time they will get used to each other. I think Hermie is ready to be friends, just Sadie is having a hard time ...see more

Obviously sale prices are great for this challenge! or one other option is never buying clothes! if I was a seamstress sewing my own would be good! realistically I do try to wear what I buy & get good use out of my clothes. I often will mend my clothes to increase their wearing life!

I left to go to the Y and the temp was 0 & when I drove home it was -2. I didn't check what the wind chill was!

thank you for the encouragements Howard, Rose & Vivian!! I appreciate your kind words in your encouragements to me!

I honestly don't have any of these foods right now. I will put something on the grocery list for next time!! :-)

today is another wind chill advisory. so cold... we had some slippery snow & I did a bit of sliding on the roads on my way to bible study. I went slow. more snow, but light snow scheduled for tomorrow.

I had a nice swim but didn't walk outside (too cold).

my husband lost his phone last week & today got me an upgrade & got his replacement with insurance which turned out to be an upgrade because they must not be making his old phone anymore! we are way behind the iPhone craze! ha ha!! my old phone was only worth $35 in trade in value! way to get full use of our phones!

309 points Sarah!! thanks for the pact!! :-D

I am not jogging & touching my hand to the floor! in the pool I made a figure 8 with my leg which is an exercise I do for my hips. I could of walked figure 8's in the pool or the living room but I didn't.

I did walk outside in the snow! I love walking in fresh soft snow. I did ok with the sore left hamstring & my right knee which has been sore bearing my weight out of whack. our temps were above zero which was sooo nice! tomorrow we go back to below zero & wind chill advisories until Tuesday.

the snow is pretty on the trees. fresh snow is so fluffy & sparkly! I am not looking forward to subzero temps. I feel like I am living in Canada or Alaska... when I drive, the snow on the roads is so packed & has that crunchy feel under the car wheels.

I hope everyone has a good start to their week tomorrow! I know some people have it off from work/school! enjoy!

it was -4 when I left the Y tonight after swimming! still bitterly cold! I am making sure the squirrels outside have enough corn & my bird feeders are mostly full! :-)

our movie tonight is the first thin man movie with William Powell & Myrna Loy. we recorded all 6 of them over Christmas on tv. I have always wanted to see them all!

    stay warm!!
