thanks to Vivian for the encouragement!!

I think in answer to the challenge, I would have to say my husband!!

today I was cleaning in the kitchen when I got a splinter from the kitchen cupboard edge that went under the nail bed of my nail!! it was very painful!! fortunately there was one urgent care open under our insurance. we drove there & they had no waiting!! we were so lucky!!

the dr was very nice & tried to distract me with questions! he had to numb my thumb & cut away the nail to get to the imbedded splinter!! the lidocaine didn't work right away so I felt it when he cut!! he gave me Keflex to fight infection & Vicodin for pain.

I look forward to the pact Diana G. !!

    thanks for stopping by!

thanks to Lasita, Vivian & Lynne for the very nice encouragements! ♥ ♥ ♥

I love putting lemon & limes in my water!! I have not tried mint, cucumber or oranges!

we had a hot hot hot day today with a heat advisory of a heat index of 100. I went swimming this afternoon & it felt so good!! nice & cool :-)

it cooled off this evening & I enjoyed my porch, a good book & the birds! I had a blue jay come for peanuts! whenever he/she sees me I get the whole peanuts for it & he/she has so much fun carrying one peanut at a time to eat in a tree or on the deck railing!! usually the squirrels horn in on the peanuts!! not today! lucky blue jay!

I hope everyone has a pleasant & relaxing Sunday! ;-)

Mint water tastes like grass, in my opinion. I like getting frozen strawberries and putting them in my water.

Hope it wasn't as hot today. HUGS

challenge done!! my dentist always tells me to not brush so hard!!

today was a low key day. only one dog to walk, swimming at the YMCA & reading on the porch. I was so excited while I was watching the birds coming to my bird bath & suet feeder when a cute female ruby throated hummingbird flew up. she hovered by the suet feeder & then flew away. I immediately refilled my hummer feeder in front but never saw her come back. I never see hummers in the middle of summer. usually spring or fall. that was so cool!!

I got the bathrooms cleaned & laundry done.... such an exciting life I lead!! tomorrow my boss wants me to meet one of her boarding dogs & to let all her dogs out plus the boarder for supper tomorrow. she boards one dog at a time with her 3 rescue dogs. she has 2 greyhounds (rescued from the race track) & a black lab (rescued from a breeding mill). I enjoy checking on her dogs, they are all really sweet!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I have a budget I worked out for my retirement. I do my best to stick to it!! we do have cable tv & we have trimmed it down so we don't have extra channels we are paying for that we don't really need!!

a beautiful summer day with temps in the upper 70's, sunshine & just perfect!! I enjoyed my time on the screened porch watching the birds bringing their babies to my feeders & reading!

I got the vacuuming done, hurray!! ooh another way to save money, I do my own housework!!

have a great Friday everyone!! ;-D

I have found that sticking to a budget isn't as hard as I once thought. Going to be different when I don't have someone to hold me accountable. I have faith that I will do just fine. HUGS

Sarah, you will do great!! a budget is a great guideline so you have enough money for those bills, rent, etc. it's the spending the free money on things you don't always need that's the hard part!! now that i am retired i don't have that expendable cash like i used to for clothes, ...see more

my back has been twitchy today with my chronic back pain (degenerative arthritis). we had some heavy rain which makes sense. it is so sensitive to the weather. I watched the video & that bending forward movement is a killer for my back! so I just marched in place in the pool when I went swimming. I like to do water walking activities in the shallow end to break up the laps!!

well, we had our blueberry pancakes & they turned out good. my granddaughter said I should use coconut oil to cook them in & we did. turned out tasty. I also used coconut milk instead of milk.

we had a low key day. reading on the screened porch & putzing around the house. she swept out my garage & the deck to earn some spend money!! that was nice :-) she will be going home with 8 books we bought yesterday for her summer reading. she couldn't wait to dig in today!!

I have never tried coconut milk before. I use almond milk due to my milk allergy.

We had some rain the other night, no where near enough though. It is so hot and humid.

my granddaughter came this morning!! walking dogs, a dr appointment for me & a book club for teens at the library for her. (she enjoyed that). we had fun shopping for books for her as she is a big reader too!! I hope she is stocked up for the summer!! Chinese for supper & the movie, "finding Dory" too cute :-D

not sure about tomorrow. she wants blueberry pancakes & we will hopefully spend some time doing chores so she can earn some spend money!!

    thanks for stopping by!! ♥ ♥ ♥

interesting challenge!! I have never needed an emergency supply kit as I have not been involved in a natural disaster. the article had some good tips!!

today was the perfect summer day!! temps in the upper 70-80 range, low humidity & a lovely breeze blowing all day!! plus a pleasantly sunny day with a few clouds! a great day for some yard work. bye bye weeds!! did a bunch of weeding but it takes hours to get around the yard! I only did a couple hours worth! the bird feeders also got replenished too! I also had a chat with a neighbor who's dog I walk as well!! almost finished a book on my screened porch... tomorrow the last 30 pages will be read!!

my daughter & her family were invited to a summer solstice bonfire! what a nice way to welcome in the summer!! I enjoyed watching the moon rise from my front yard as I was filling feeders!

    happy summer solstice!! ♥ ♥ ♥
