I am 60. i have 2 adult children & between them I have 2 grandgirls & 1 grandson. I worked as a psych nurse in a hospital setting for over 25 yrs. It's great being retired! I love to read, take walks enjoying nature & going to movies! I currently live in Minnesota & am from Wisconsin originally. I am so sorry but i have enough connections to keep track of!! I do apologize as I would love to accept everyone! Thank you for visiting ♥ ♥ ♥

challenge done. I parked the farthest spot when I went to the YMCA to swim!! I also even took 2 walks today which I usually don't! I had acupuncture today & I always feel pretty good on the day when I have it.

the fireflies are almost gone. I only counted 4 tonight!! I miss the sounds of the frogs at night! now I am hearing the katydids!

on my walk tonight I saw a deer on the trail. I haven't seen one for quite a while! I know they are busy with their babies early in the summer!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

thanks to Vivian & Christine for their encouragements!

challenge done! nice to think about a goal & I actually thought of a few!

a hot day with a lot of humidity! turned the A/C on... got some vacuuming done which always upsets the cats! they run & hide. Suki, the visiting red parrot just vocalizes louder in competition!!

I hope everyone has a fabulous friday tomorrow!

thank you Kris & Vivian for your encouragements!!

Sarah we are on day 4 of our double double trouble pact!! ♥

the season is summer & I love fruit in the summer. right now the blueberries are in season & those are one of my favorite fruits. I have been eating watermelon, cherries & strawberries! :-)

Suki the red parrot is still entertaining me!! one of the sounds he does besides sneezing is the sound of an inhaler! his owner has asthma. my allergies have been bad so I have started my inhaler again & he was very interested!! he does a pftt pftt type sound for the inhaler!

I clean his cage which is an acrylic see through cube with holes. he will immediately get it dirty as he dips his cracker bits into his bowl of water. he also loves to toss his corn around & will turn his bowl with the corn or crackers upside down. he thinks this is funny! today I tried to see if he likes strawberries or bananas. nope he didn't. his owner left me grapes but I have to cut them for him. he does like those! he also likes my cereal with almond milk!! :-)

that is one bird who is small for a parrot but has a large personality that fills our house! I always miss Suki when he goes home!!

I hope everyone has a good rest of the week!! we have had rain for 2 days but I am glad as we needed it. the pond out back is now up to it's normal level.

Rain? What is that? We supposedly got some yesterday morning, however you wouldn't know it. It is a muggy 84 at midnight going to climb to almost 100 tomorrow. I hope the a.c. is working at work. Addie comes home Saturday from Camp. I've missed her. Tell Suki hi.

an odd challenge. due to my back that is the worst angle for it! I just marched in place in the pool tonight!

a really low key day. I have 2 weeks of no cat clients but things will be picking up the end of july & in august!

did some housework, got my walk & swim in! my baby ducks are all grown up. its so fun to watch them anyway as they come to my yard in a group. today they went to the other neighbor's yard & went under the fence. there is one duck who is always behind & has to figure it all out him/herself as he misses what everyone else did!! fortunately s/he made it to the corn!

I have suki the red parrot now for 2 weeks. his owner told me his new word is baby. I have been saying baby a lot today & he hasn't said it yet for me! he likes to sneeze & say sorry after he "sneezes". he combined sorry & achoo the last time he was at my house & says achorry! clever bird. why waste breath on 2 words & when 1 word will do! I give him paper towel cardboard tube rolls to play with & he likes to pick them up & drop them. we also have a game where he will pick up one of his plastic toys & drop it on purpose! he will look at me & i have to clap my hands & say "yay Suki!!". he is too funny!

enjoy your wednesday everyone! thanks to all who stop by! ♥ ♥ ♥

Sarah, suki is a smaller parrot but his personality sure fills our house! the cats seem used to him & don't bother him. he has an acrylic cube for his cage with holes. that way he can see out. as soon as I clean it, he messes it up right away! he dips bits of crackers into ...see more

thank you Kris & Vivan for your encouragements! :-)

I usually eat off my own plates & silverware when I am at home. most restaurants have dishes, etc. so there's no waste. it's the take away food that creates waste. I don't do much take away. there is one place we like to get Asian food at & the containers are recyclable which is nice. I often save those containers for leftovers!! I love recycling!

it's been getting dry here. we got a nice rain storm which we needed. even the pond out back was getting low, i could see the water level going down slowly this past week. i am happy to have rain!!

i asked my husband this & the first foods that came to his mind were wild rice soup, Swedish meatballs & hot dishes! I thought of lefse & lutefisk which are popular Scandinavian foods. when we moved from Wisconsin to Minnesota I couldn't believe all the Scandinavian culture around here & all the blonde people! Garrison Keillor has helped make the Lutheran churches & hot dishes famous from his Prairie Home Companion radio show!! I personally love wild rice soup & hot dishes!! :-)

I had a lovely relaxing Sunday!!

    I hope everyone's week gets off to a good start ♥ ♥ ♥

Sarah we did pretty great with 328 points yesterday at the completion of our Jubilant July pact!! yay! :-D

I love doing this challenge. I have a back yoga DVD that calls this a restorative pose. good to do while traveling if doing lots of sitting! feels good!

we had our granddaughter overnight last night & had a nice time! out to eat for Asian food. both our granddaughters love orange chicken & she ordered that! we had fun at the despicable 3 movie & laughing as it was fun. today my husband took her to her school's fundraiser blue grass festival. the heat was awful today at 94 degrees & very humid. i hope she did ok outside all day!!

in the cooler evening I took my walk & filled bird feeders! tomorrow i will be watching suki the red parrot for about a week.

Sarah, that is awful having an excessive heat warning. we had one for one day so far this summer & i thought that was bad. they always scare me! i feel for people without A/C or the homeless. heat stroke is a real possibility for sure. i think the dog days of summer are early. ...see more
